Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
Isaiah 30: 21 (NIV)

We’ve all been there.

Trying to figure out which way we should go next.

We’ve either been there in the past, or we’re there now.

And more than likely we will be there in the future.

Standing before a decision. Struggling with what to do.

Stuck at a fork-in-the-road—trying to figure out the next step along the way in the journey we’re on.

Trying to figure out the right way to go, and the right thing to do.

And if we listen into the quiet of the world around us, we will hear the anguished pleas of so many others from every walk and moment of life—also at that fork-in-the-road, trying to figure out which way is next, and which way is the right way to go.

Others just like you and me.

Over thirty years ago the song “Show Me the Way” was released by the musical group Styx. The song at one point shared this—

“Show me the way, Show me the way….
All the heroes and legends I knew as a child, have fallen to idols of clay,
And I feel this empty place inside so afraid that I’ve lost my faith
Show me the way, show me the way.”

Sadly those words ring true today.

We look for an example and words from leaders in society, or role models in the world of sports and business, elected and appointed politicians, leaders in education, or to the successful and well-to-do—and find little, if any, help.

But Isaiah reminds us, and points us to the help we need.

The help, which in our better moments we remember will show us the way, and the next steps for the journey of our lives—

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”

The voice of our heavenly Father, who sees us, cares for us, loves us and will never leave us.

Facing a fork-in-the-road? Listen for His voice quietly sharing—“This is the way; walk in it.”

Follow His way.

You will never be alone.

In His Name–Scott
