Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
Revelation 4: 11 (ESV)

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”
Revelation 5: 12 (ESV)

Worship leader and songwriter Andrew Peterson shared these words with us in a song he wrote entitled “Is He Worthy?”—

“Do you feel the world is broken?
We do.
Do you feel the shadows deepen?
We do.
But do you know that all the dark won’t stop the light from getting through?
We do.
Do you wish that you could see it all made new?
We do.”

Words which paint the landscape of a world, nation and individual lives and families in turmoil everywhere we turn.

Broken places and broken lives.

Relationships—families and friends—being torn apart by decisions which sadden the heart of God.

Dark shadows covering the mornings when we rise each day.

A world wherever we look, in crisis.

A nation at a crossroads once again, struggling to find anew its way under God. And every day wishing and hoping that it can all be made new.

Yet, listen to his words later in the song—

“Does the Father truly love us?
He does.
Does the Spirit move among us?
He does.
And does Jesus, our Messiah hold forever those He loves?
He does.
Does our God intend to dwell again with us?
He does…
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory…
He is! He is!”

In the midst of all our trials, difficulties, despair and darkness—God is always the Good within the bad.

In the midst of all we face—God always shows up.

And in the midst of every day of our lives—He is worthy of all blessing, honor, glory and praise.

And thanks.

Is He worthy? He is!

In His Name–Scott
