Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Ephesians 5: 25-28 (NLT)“Look here, you people who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to such and such a town, stay there a year, and open up a profitable business.” How do you know what is going to happen tomorrow? For the length of your lives is as uncertain as the morning fog—now you see it; soon it is gone.

My Granddaughters, Hannah and Ellie, know that I am easily touched and moved to tears by certain moments, events, and relationships that matter.
Where people are helped, healed, and saved through the caring or courage of others.
As the story goes, one night they were watching a movie together when a sensitive, meaningful scene occurred, and said to each other—
“If Gran were here now, he’d be crying.”
Actually, I am a proud member of a couple of “waterworks clubs,” because of that.
My holy bride without fault, my good and perfect gift from God, fighting with God’s help against another medical issue, gives me with more credit than I deserve, with words such as sensitive, caring, a pastoral heart.
The truth is that I simply try to follow her example to me, to those she loves, and to the world around her lucky enough to come into her presence at some point in time.
A Godly example is she, always pointing me and others to what is important.

The gifts of others in our lives. Others who lift us, love us, and care for us. Others who add fulness to our lives, and make our lives satisfying and complete.
They are here, and then they are gone. And sadly, we miss too many moments with them, which would bless and transform our lives while they are here.
Things happen. Schedules interfere. Illness invades. Relationships end.
And quickly we realize that whatever time we spend with those who matter—is not enough. Never enough.
As we are reminded in the song “Enough” by Gentri which shares—
“I wake to face the day,
Already buried under the noise that never fades…
I race to beat the clock. A thousand things to conquer.
And when I get so lost,
You send me your love, before I give up,
And then
From all the madness, you call to me,
And offer a moment I’ve longed for.
You wash away the sadness, when you’re with me.
Forever is not enough.”
My friends, there is never enough time with those we love.
So, why not “miss them now.” As we face the uncertainty and brevity of the time we will have with them. With those who matter.
Realizing that even if we had forever, it would not be enough.
So, miss them now and fill the days full of them, so in the future as we look back, we will have “memories sneak out of our eyes and roll down our cheeks,” of our times spent with them.
Until that day we and they stand together with Christ, which then will be forever.
