Turn Around – Look at Him!
Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. ‘
Isaiah 41: 10 (NLT)“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
II Chronicles 7: 14 (KJV)“And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”
Matthew 16: 26 (NLT)
What seems important to you these days?
Where are you looking, to try to fill your life with meaning?
Do you have a sense of joy? A sense of purpose? Do you have a sense that your life has meaning? What is it?
Do you feel a sense of real fulfillment and satisfaction?
A sense from within and from above—that is not determined by the selfishness and standards of the world around you.
What do you seek after, to fill your life, to find your purpose, to claim or reclaim any joy in your life? Is it aligned with God, or with the world?
Take an honest look at your priorities.
Are they about making money, acquiring stuff, wins, championships, seeking recognition, increasing your image or position?
Or are your priorities aligned with adding value to everyone around you, sacrificially as Christ did? Lifting others who come before you to a better day. Sharing the love of Christ with your words and actions.
Is your life about you, and your priorities? At what cost so far?
Or is your life about others? About lifting all others—all—God brings before you.
Here’s a helpful place for us to start to find the best answers for your life and mine, to all those questions, and those moments of uncertainty we all experience.
Those best answers God would smile upon until we took our last breath on earth—
Turn around.
Want to find true meaning, purpose, fulfillment, satisfaction, and joy for your life?
Turn around—Look at Him.
In 1968, the classic singing group, the Vogues, released many meaningful and popular songs, then and still today. Songs the world might call secular, forgetting that God is always at work in all settings—sacred and secular—for our good and the good of all His children. Here are some things they shared in their song “Turn Around and Look at Me”—
“There is Someone walking behind you,
Turn around, look at Me.
There is Someone watching your footsteps,
Turn around, look at Me…
And there’s Someone to stand beside you,
Turn around, look at Me.
And there’s Someone to love and guide you,
Turn around, look at Me.
Oh, I’ve waited and I’ll wait forever,
For you to come to Me.
Look at Someone (look at Someone)
Who really loves you, yeah, loves you.
Turn around, look at Me, turn around, look at Me.”*
So, what seems important to you these days?
Where are you looking to try to fill your life with meaning, purpose, and joy?
Try by starting here—Turn Around and Look at Him!
Then, follow Him.
In His Name–Scott
Once again God shows up through the apparent secular in life, reminding us no matter what—He walks with us, stands with us, loves, and guides us.
You will be blessed by this song of the “Vogues” from years ago sharing God’s words to us to— “Turn Around and Look at Me.”
*Capitalized “Someone” and “Me” noting my personal reference to God.

In the Chaos – Call Upon His Name
Peter trusted in Christ just enough to step out of the boat at Christ’s invitation, and come to Him.
And so, he went over the side of the boat, and began to walk toward Christ on the top of the water, where feet did not naturally walk.
But in the chaos of the storm, with the winds and waves still rising up around him, Peter took his eyes off Christ.
And he began to sink…
Angels Among Us
We want to believe it’s true. We need to believe it’s true.
God sending Angels to us, to walk among us.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, believed it was the Angel Gabriel God sent, standing before telling her what at first blush seemed unbelievable—that she had been selected to be the Mother of the Son of God.
Guess what happened…
Days of Hope—Stand with God
In 1994 Northern Ireland Christian worship leader, Robin Mark, was moved to write the song “Days of Elijah” after watching a television program reviewing the events of that year.
The show recapped a year which included the Rwandan war tragedies and genocide of over one million lives, while the world stood by.
Did God even care.
