Thoughts

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
Always faithful. Always able. Always God.

Always faithful. Always able. Always God.

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalms 46: 1-3 (NIV)

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8: 38-39 (NIV)

“Shout to the Lord all the earth! Serve the Lord with joy. Come before him with a joyful shout!”
Psalm 100: 1-2 (ISV)

So, how is the day going?

I wonder if we have ever had a season of life where we could identify with some of the words of the song, “God Help Me” sung by the Christian group Unspoken, as they share—

“When I’m at my end, tears pouring down.
And I can’t see past what’s in front of me now.
When it’s all too much for this heart to take…
Feels like there’s no way out…”

I wonder if you have ever been there.

I wonder if you have ever felt like that, at some point in your life.

I suspect we all have been there at times in our lives.

Where you couldn’t see past what seemed like the end.

Where doubt overwhelmed you, and no light of hope was anywhere to be found. Where fear followed you with every step and thought, in every moment of your day.

Too many stories reach us about some of our youth or our young adults hitting a wall of disappointment which appears to them to be permanently in place.

Where successful careers unexpectedly hit a valley full of never-ending shortfalls.

And the elderly, too often set to the side by society, sit all alone with nothing but their memories to keep them company and get them through the day.

But here’s a few more verses from the song “God Help Me” to embrace in whatever we, or those we love, may face in our lives—

“When it’s all too much for this heart to take,
There’s one name I call, one prayer that I pray.
God, help me now…
Feels like there’s no way out,
But Jesus, You’re faithful and able,
And You’ve never once let me down.
God, help me now…”

And He will.

Always faithful. Always able.

Always God.

In His Name–Scott

Be blessed as you listen to “God Help Me.”

New Year Journey

New Year Journey

Here we go—2021.
We’ve been clamoring and whining for this brand New Year to come, pretty much throughout most of the last. But will this New Year be any different than the last?

Aroma of Christ

Aroma of Christ

A number of years ago, when Lynda and I visited Hawaii with dear friends, one of our stops was on the small Island of Lanai where we stayed at the Lodge at Koele on the top of the island. Behind the Lodge just within walking distance from our bedroom was a greenhouse with hundreds of varieties of orchids. The aroma followed you wherever you went. It’s the same with us, in our relationship with Christ.

Pretty amazing when you stop to think about it.
“God is with us!”
What was God thinking when He inspired Isaiah to write those words
