Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me.”
II Samuel 22: 17-18 (NLT)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3: 16 (NIV)

No way the Israelites escape captivity in Egypt on their own.

No way.

No way the Israelites survive forty years crossing the desert on their own wits.

No way.

No way they get through the Red Sea to safety or cross the raging Jordan River into the Promised Land.

No way.

No way David beats Goliath by himself.

No way.

We’ve all been there. We may be there now.

Captive to something.

Wandering through the valleys of life, simply trying at times to survive.

Standing before a deep Red Sea or a Jordan River raging before us.

Facing a Goliath.

I wonder how we will handle whatever we’re facing in these days.

We’ve all be there. Unable. Uncertain. Inadequate. Feeling unworthy.

Let me suggest there is One who can help.

One who is worthy, certain and able.

Who is worthy? Who knows the way? Who is able and can help?

Where do we turn? I mean not simply with passing lip-service, but to truly turn and surrender.

Reflect on a few words from a song written by Andrew Peterson entitled “Is He Worthy?”—

“Is anyone worthy?
Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave,
He was David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave…
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory.
Is He worthy of this?
He is.”

The Lion of Judah, the Lamb of God, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace and Baby in a manger.

God reached down with His Son in hand and set Him into our world and into our lives because He loves us.

He turned “No Way” which His children then were facing, and which we today face, into the way to live the life He created us all to live.

Turn to Him.

With the most magnificent and greatest act of love ever—sending His Son to live and die for us—God made a way to be all we can be, and provided a path for each of us to live eternally with Him.

God reached down, for you and for me.

For now, and forever.

Is He worthy? He is.

In His Name–Scott
