Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
“I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber…
The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.”
Psalm 121: 1-3, 7-8 (NLT)“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41: 10 (ESV)
I wonder how many of us find our todays similar to our yesterdays.
And as we get a bit further down the road, look back and see that the days of our lives were often determined by, and a lot like, the days of our past.
Yet the God who watches over us, helps us, strengthens, and protects us, as David shared in Psalm 121, and Isaiah shared in the passage above, creates us with incredible eternal potential.
Placing within our hearts a passion to reach for the stars, dream of great adventures, and achieve things which would change the world.
Yet somewhere along the way, maybe early, cold water was poured on all we dreamed we could be.
Maybe we weren’t encouraged or were made to feel less when we didn’t meet expectations. Or maybe we were abandoned, left to fend for ourselves.
And we began to see ourselves as less than God saw us and created us to be.
And we began to allow what was, to be what is, and accept it as what will be.
Forgetting that the God who created us was, is, and always will be in the miracle business.
That is who we are—His miracles—you and me.
In the song “I Saw God Today,” country western singer, George Strait, shared these words—
“Just walked down the street to the coffee shop,
Had to take a break, I’ve been by her side for 18 hours straight…
I saw God today.
I’ve been to church. I’ve read the book.
I know He’s here, but I don’t look near as often as I should.
Yeah, I know I should.
His fingerprints are everywhere.
I just look down to stop and stare,
Open my eyes and then I swear—
I saw God today…
She’s got my nose, she’s got her mama’s eyes.
My brand new baby girl,
She’s a miracle—I saw God today.”
We are not bound by the past, or to who we were told we were. What may have happened to us before does not limit who we can be today and tomorrow.
Our relationship with our Heavenly Father determines all of that, and all we were created to be.
We are a miracle of God, created and gifted by God for great things.
Designed to reach the end of our journey in this temporary home, leaving a legacy marked by having reached our full God-given potential and purpose.
Miracles of God.
Having an impact for good, and for eternity.
