Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“…From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

Luke 12: 48b (NIV)

Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are stiffened.”

Reverend Billy Graham

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Attributed-Edmund Burke, British House of Commons

And then—Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Now what?

Yet another moment of evil to be added to a growing list of terror: Nice and Paris, France; Dallas, TX; Orlando, FL; Brussels; Bristol, TN; Columbus, OH; San Bernardino, CA; Ft. Hood; September 11; and so many others.

Some time ago, in the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam and Eve the right to choose—free will. To choose to draw near to Him, to love and follow Him, or not. He could have done it differently, not provided free will, and demanded and directed Adam and Eve, and all of us who would follow, to love Him and to follow Him. But He wanted us to choose to love Him, and therefore free will and the power to choose was born.

As a result, some choose to do good, and some choose to do evil—and therefore evil exists in the world. Spiritual warfare—between good and evil—exists in the heavens and on earth. And God calls us to follow Him, in the battle for good.

And He has called leaders forth. Abraham. Moses. Joshua. David. Solomon. Paul. Peter. And so many others even a few through today. Some leaders generally respond with courage. Some sadly cower in fear. But regardless of the path the leaders of the day take—God calls each of us forth to follow Him, and to courageously fight the good fight, and to stand for and with Him and for all that is good, and against all that is not of Him.

So the question we began with—Now what? And, of course, God has the answer for us. Here it is:

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

II Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

My dear friends, we will find all the courage we will ever need right now, right there, and always and forever, with Him.

Choose Him. That’s what!

In His Name—Scott
