Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.”
Psalm 27: 14 (The Message)

“You will not leave in a hurry, running for your lives. For the Lord will go ahead of you;
yes, the God of Israel will protect you from behind.”
Isaiah 52: 12 (NLT)

A thought as we begin this new day.

And a new week.

Hours and days full of opportunities, dreams, adventures and possibilities.

But also filled with uncertainties and lingering concerns we are optimistic we will be able to deal with, in time. We hope.

Yet some have already become walls we are having trouble seeing over.

Some have grown into giants now getting the best of our optimism and what we have to offer.

And still others have become mountains we’re sure we can’t climb over, and despair has whipped them into storms we’re too weary to navigate any longer.

A thought to remember, from the words of the song “Stay” sung by the contemporary Christian group “This Hope”—

“What if we looked after Him, till everyone turned to see what we see,
What if we drank from the fountain till we overflowed,
What if we basked in His presence,
till we came out drenched in the fragrance of God,
What if we stayed so close.
Would we see giants fall, Walls come down,
Mountains be moved, Lives turned around,
Rest for the weary, Peace in the storm.
Would we see His glory, would we see our Lord, If we stayed.
What if we stayed.
Stay till we taste His goodness. Stay till He helps us to fear.
Stay till the fear turns to wisdom. Stay till it’s Him we adore.”

The thought for a new day and week, no matter what is before us—

Stay close.

And then an additional reminder of confirmation shared by a dear friend, from the book of Isaiah in verse 52:12—

God’s got our back!

So, as we begin any of our days and weeks, a thought—

Stay close. To Him.

In His Name–Scott
