Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
I Thessalonians 5: 18 (NLT)

You know how it usually goes.

You meet someone at the store, on the street, at a game.

Somewhere.

Then the question— “How are you?”

And your answer— “Doing well. Good. Thanks.”

Truth. White lie. Bald-faced lie.

Or, maybe a heartbreaking moment as something you’re struggling with resurfaces in your thoughts and heart.

There is no one, not anyone, anywhere or anytime, who is not struggling with something in their lives. No one.

Not you. Not me.

And the Apostle Paul, in the passage of scripture above, says to “Be thankful in all circumstances.”

Even though we may not be thankful for the circumstances we are in, Paul says to be thankful in them, in whatever struggles we are going through.

Why? Because we are not going through them alone.

Never.

Take a look at some of the words from the song “I Won’t Let Go” by Rascal Flatts—

“It’s like a storm, that cuts a path
It breaks your will, it feels like that
You think you’re lost
But you’re not lost on your own
You’re not alone
I will stand by you, I will help you through
When you’ve done all you can do
If you can’t cope, I will dry your eyes
I will fight your fight, I will hold you tight
And I won’t let go”

We’ve all been there. Maybe more than we care to remember.

And we will be again.

Facing storms and struggles, disappointments and heartbreaks, feeling all alone.

Maybe this Thanksgiving season is our time to remember that in the middle of whatever we’re in the middle of—we are never alone.

God’s got us, always.

Will stand with us. Help us through.

And won’t let us go.

A truth to embrace every moment of our lives.

Be Thankful my friends—He won’t let go.

In His Name–Scott
