Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
Planted in Christ

Planted in Christ

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.”
Deuteronomy 5: 33 (NIV)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11: 28-29 (NIV)

In case someone asks you someday, or wonders aloud to others, think about this—where would you say that your life is planted?

If you had to put a stake in the ground for a belief and position in your life that is non-negotiable—for what would it be and stand?

It will determine where your life is planted.

To help with that, think about these—

What is it which guides your days?

Your decisions.

Your interactions with others.

How do you guide and direct others—children, grandchildren, family, friends, coworkers, teammates.

Where do you turn when difficulty or tragedy hits.

Who or what runs your life.

What or whom, if anything or anyone, do you surrender to.

Where do you fall at some difficult time in your life when you need help, and the fall is all you seem to have left.

Where, and in what, do you stake your life when you don’t know where to go?

We had occasion the other day to celebrate with a local church its thirty-fifth year of ministry in our city and beyond.

From its beginning with just one person with God’s vision, then three, to many today—it has always been and still is salt and light to the community and beyond.

With a resolve and commitment to continue to do more.

Obedient to Christ. Faithful to Christ.

Surrendered to Christ.

Changing lives and the world around them with Christ.

Falling down to, and calling out to Christ for help and direction.

With lives firmly staked and planted in Christ.

So then, back to the question—where is your life planted?

Where would others—watching as you go through your days—say that your life is planted?

Only one place will last and provide the fulfillment, direction and purpose for the life you were created to live, for such a time as this.

Plant your life in Christ.

And then hang on.

In His Name–Scott
