Goodness of God

Goodness of God

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“I will sing of the goodness and lovingkindness of the Lord forever; With my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness from generation to generation.”
Psalm 89: 1 (AMP)

Worried?

Wondering—Now what. What are we going to do?

With the recent news from some of our economic pundits that our economy is in a recession.

Despite others who say “not so fast.”

Clearly though, recession or not, with prices on goods, gas and services rising, homes are struggling to make ends meet.

It may be a good time to remember.

The war in the Ukraine is still steaming ahead.

Crime rates and illegal activity seem to be on the rise, with no regard to geographic location.

Our elected officials, at almost every level around the country, continue to stoke the fires of ideological disagreement with vitriolic-filled fervor.

What in the world are we going to do?

Seems like it might be a good time to remember.

In 2019, Jenn Johnson and Bethel Music, founded by Jenn and her husband Brian, released a song entitled “Goodness of God.” Here are some of the words to remember today—

“I love You, Lord for Your mercy never fails me
All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.

I love Your voice, You have led me through the fire
In the darkest night, You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a Father, I’ve known You as a Friend
And I have lived in the goodness of God.

And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.”

Bottom line to our worries—God cares. God’s goodness and God’s faithfulness remains, no matter what’s going on in the world around us.

And God’s not worried.

So, whenever you find yourself wondering—what are we going to do?

Remember the goodness and faithfulness of God, and then—

Stay with God.

God’s got you. God’s got me.

God’s got it all, my friends.

Stay with God.
