Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
Overcomers

Overcomers

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“…for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”
I John 5: 4-5 (NIV)

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose…
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8: 28, 37-39 (NIV)

Been there. You have too.

Where the mountains which rise up before you seem too big to get around or over.

Where one valley after another—hot, dry, and draining—stretches out before you with no end ever in sight.

And you’re feeling all alone.

Walking all alone too often, it seems.

Not welcome in the places you feel you need to be. Places that might help. With people who might help to lift you over, around, or beyond whatever you’re facing.

Looking for any ray of hope beyond the disappointments, difficulties, and struggles with which you seem to be forever wrestling.

Been there. Done that. You have too.

And maybe you’re there now.

So, what now?

Remember this—He was born in a stable. Lived among us. Taught, healed, forgave, loved, and lifted. Pointed to a better way, a better life—with Him.

Then He died, and rose to life.

And calls us to believe that He is the Son of God, and to ask Him into our lives.

So that with Him we can overcome the world.

Overcome whatever we face. Whatever the world throws at us.

Overcome heartache, despair, loss, less, and any other mountain or valley standing or stretching out before us.

With Him, we can.

In the song “Overcomer” the late Mandisa shares some encouraging truths for us to remember and claim for our lives when she sings—

“Got so much on your mind, nothing’s really going right.
Looking for a ray of hope, whatever it is you may be going through,
I know He’s not gonna let it get the best of you.
You’re an overcomer, stay in the fight ’til the final round.
You’re not going under, ‘Cause God is holding you right now.
You might be down for a moment, feeling like it’s hopeless.
That’s when He reminds you—That you’re an overcomer.
You’re an overcomer…
The same Man, the Great-I-Am,
The One who overcame death, is living inside of you.
So just hold tight, fix your eyes on the One who holds your life.
There’s nothing He can’t do.
You’re an overcomer, stay in the fight ’til the final round.
You’re not going under, ‘Cause God is holding you right now…”

With Christ within us we are more than conquerors, overwhelming victorious, and forever overcomers. Leading us into a better life here, and a life beyond our ability to comprehend, with Him in Heaven.

Overcoming the world.

No matter what we face—with God—today, tomorrow, and forever.

Overcomers.

In His Name–Scott

Our Eyes on God

Our Eyes on God

So where do we start to find the nation established two hundred and forty-five years ago? Where do we start, to begin to find answers, guidance, help and hope…
“… We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

Stay With God

Stay With God

It never seems to end, does it?
And we wonder why? And then, we wonder what we can, or should do?
And the only, and best answer for you and for me…

Yes Lord

Yes Lord

We are an interesting people.
Here are some of our responses when things don’t work out as we had planned—frustration, casting blame and throwing in the towel… And perhaps the worst response of all—while reeling in total frustration, resignation and defeat—turning from Him.
