Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”
John 1:5 (NLT)“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 (NLT)“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For the Lord God Almighty reigns.””
Revelation 19:6 (NIV)
There’s a lot going on and so fast, it’s hard to keep track.
Hard to know what to do and figure out where you stand, and where to turn.
People from all walks of life—curse, criticize, censure, cancel and condemn.
But don’t listen or talk to each other.
People from all walks of life—raise fists, stand, kneel, wonder, work, shake their heads, play, pledge, close their eyes, burn buildings, shoot others, and, well, other things too numerous to keep up with.
Where can we turn? There are a lot of people in doubt and despair, and a lot of places in darkness right now. Seems like people in dark places need light.
So, why not—the Light of the world. The way, the truth, and the life. The Lord God Almighty.
Just a thought.
But, you know, it seems like He is the One who can bridge divides and heal hurts. The One who can restore health, wholeness and hope. And the only One who can turn death on earth, into life eternal with Him in Heaven.
So why not try it, and together why not—turn to the Light.
The state of Louisiana, had recently been experiencing an increase in the number of the cases of the Covid-19 virus occurring.
And so, in a statement released on Twitter the Governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards, invited the people of Louisiana to join him for three days of prayer and fasting when he said—
“I believe in the power of prayer and I believe in the power of working together and being good neighbors to overcome Covid-19.”
Turning to the Light.
A display of holy boldness in a currently “politically correct” world. But as a dear friend of mine recently said, if there is anyone who is always correct—politically, culturally, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually—it is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings—the Lord God Almighty.
Turning to the Light.
Turning to the ultimate and eternal answer to whatever we face. And that answer is—
Light of the world. (John 1:5)
The way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6)
The Lord God Almighty. (Revelation 19:6)
And one day, the Lord God Almighty will return with the final answer for all of us, and answers to all the questions.
In the meantime, why not—
Turn to the Light.
Turn back to Him. Or maybe for the first time ever, turn to and accept Him.
For hope. For peace. For today. For tomorrow.
And, most importantly, for the assurance of our eternal life with Him.
I suspect we will be pleasantly surprised in our days remaining here on earth—and eternally grateful, in our forever and Heavenly home.
