Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life…And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?…But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 6: 25, 27, 33 (ESV)

“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
Colossians 1: 9-10 (NKJV)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29: 11-13 (NIV)

“Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to him.”
Hebrews 13: 16 (TLB)

Here we are looking forward to a New Year—2026. Thinking about all that is before us, and all that the year ahead might hold.

Thinking, and planning all we might do. Reflecting once again on what our purpose is to be, should be, in this life we have here on earth.

While also looking back at this year—2025. Remembering all that it was, and all that it might have been.

Perhaps even thinking about what we might do differently as we move ahead into a New Year of hope, promise, possibility, and impact in the world for good.

Suggestion—do not make it about you.

We just watched God do that, for us.

As He made it all about you, and about me, as we remembered and celebrated again the birth of His Son, given to all of us over two thousand years ago by our gracious, loving, incredible Heavenly Father.

So, instead, moving ahead into this New Year, let me suggest that we try this—return the favor and make it about God.

Make it about pleasing God in everything that you think, in every word that comes out of your mouth, and in every action you lay before the world.

Allow your life, in every way possible, to be acceptable to God. To be an offering to God. To be devoted to God.

To be—Pleasing to God.

Starting with this—by seeking after God.

Embracing the words of Jesus Christ to “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness…” (Matthew 6: 33)

And claiming the promise of God spoken through Jeremiah that— “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29: 13)

All drawing us nearer to Him with all that we are, in every moment, and with every breath, thought, word, and deed.

Seeking to honor and worship God, in every second of our life while here.

Striving to be His hands, feet, and heart for every life He brings before you and places on your heart throughout the world, near and far, and all those in between.

Lifting all of them to know Him, while helping and lifting them to be all they can be. Being a light in any darkness which may cover their lives.

I suspect that all of that will be pleasing to God.

Something He will remember for that day when we all stand before Him, waiting anxiously and hopefully to hear Him say— “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25: 21)

So, our purpose for 2026?

For every day, moment, and every breath of our lives in the year ahead.

May I suggest, as the song below will affirm, that we make our lives—

Pleasing to God.
