Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1: 5 (NASB)

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?…
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
Romans 8: 35, 37-38 (NLT)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29: 11 (NIV)

Here we are on the threshold of another brand-new day, of another brand-new year, of the rest of our life.

It is a good time to get something clear.

To look into our own eyes to confirm an eternal truth to start the New Year.

Who are you? Who am I?

When God knit us each in the womb, He knew what the world would be like when we were first introduced to the world.

And we are reminded in Genesis 1: 26— “Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.’”

Creating each one of us in His image, specifically and intentionally for this time in history to lead a life of significance and impact in the world around us.

A life, with God alongside us, which seeks to change the world for the better, here, and eternally, by sharing the love of Christ, and reflecting Christ by positively impacting the lives of everyone around us.

Like He did. And does.

Because we are His.

And as His, we are to be His hands, His feet, heart, smile, and impact for good here and in eternity, in every life in the world.

Casting Crowns says it well in their song “Who Am I” where they share—

“Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name?
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the bright and morning star would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart?
Not because of who I am, But because of what You’ve done.
Not because of what I’ve done, But because of Who You are.
I am a flower quickly fading, Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean, A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I’m calling.
Lord, You catch me when I’m falling,
And You’ve told me who I am,
I am Yours, I am Yours…”

Start here and stay here—You are His.

When you are not certain of the next step, remember He is, and that—You are His.

When disaster hits, illness, or loss, you fall short, defeated, and not sure you can go on, remember, He is there and He is sure, and that—You are His.

Something to be forever clear about—You are His.

You are His precious child.

You can be clear about that, forever.

In His Name–Scott

You will be blessed by this video and Casting Crowns performance of their powerful song— “Who Am I.”
