Every Day – A Heart of Love
Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
I Samuel 16:7 (NLT)“After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, ‘Do you understand what I was doing? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.’”
John 13: 12-15 (NLT)
My bride, Lynda, and I celebrated our fifty-sixth wedding anniversary two days ago.
And every day it’s been the same.
Every day, in so many moments, and so many ways she has done and said things to lift me, encourage me and love me.
And she still does.
Every day. Amazing.
I’ve said it many times before—that when God gave me the gift of her life years ago—He saved my life.
A precious and beautiful young lady, both inside and outside.
God knew it, and He knew she was the one. The only one.
Because, most importantly of all, God knew her heart.
A heart after Him.
She became a dear and trusted friend at a time when I needed one, with His care, concern and protection shining through her for me.
Every day. Always there.
Then she said “Yes,” to my nervous proposal, and we began our married journey together.
And every day thereafter, her heart has always been the same.
Her example to me and to others was always clear.
And her love never wavered. Never.
It always shined through to me and others.
Every day.
Her purpose in life has been clear—to serve God, by loving me, loving her family and all those whom God brought into her life.
It was never about her, or about stuff or recognition.
And the ripples of her love and support through the years are vast and can be found in the fingerprints of her love and positive impact on lives everywhere.
Every day she serves her Lord simply following Him and her heart to love others, to make a difference each day in the lives which God brought before her.
And when she has been disappointed or let down by others, or fallen short of what she hoped for, she gets up, presses on, and follows Him again.
Every day she shows in so many ways that she cares.
And every day her heart stays focused on His highest and best for her life and the lives of others around her.
Every day His love shines through her for others.
Every day.
My gift from God.
In His Name—Scott

Easter Truth, Softball Truth – Freedom
If she wasn’t the fastest runner on her team I’d be surprised. She’s also an extraordinary athlete, with innate skills, aptitude, strength and flexibility to be able to perform at remarkable levels within a short period. My elder Granddaughter Hannah is also a truth-teller.
Let the Celebration Begin
Hope would be an appropriate attitude as we begin to look ahead this week toward the events which will eventually lead to and surround the celebration of our risen Christ on Easter Sunday. But I got an additional and unexpected boost of joy, when I learned that our two precious granddaughters would be staying with us for the evening and overnight. It was a surprise announcement in the midst of an otherwise normal day. Many of you understand how that works; the rest of you perhaps will one day.
Triumphal Love
It’s a long verse but a short story. I suspect that Jesus was smiling as He told it—knowing the punch line that was coming. You have to admit He really had a way with parables—our Jesus. A way to make a point with His tone, expression and words that would last longer than that younger son’s inheritance.
